The month of August brings with it a feeling of change in the air. Change in seasons, change in obscenely hot temperatures, and in our case, a change in Member of the Month. We are thrilled to feature one of our most beloved members this month, Christine Williams with Goose & Gander Creative.

Christine, alongside Jeffrey Metcalf, co-founded Goose & Gander, a Creative & Marketing Consulting Agency in Tulsa, OK. As the Marketing Director, Christine oversees everything from client relationships, to marketing strategies, and even the occasional dance movie battle. Together, Christine, Jeffrey & the rest of the G&G team produce content and strategic marketing strategies to help small businesses successfully thrive in an ever-changing market.

Alright, enough from us, read on below to learn more from Christine herself and get to know why we love having her (and the rest of the Goose & Gander team) as part of the root coworking fam!

Co-Founders of Goose & Gander Creative, Jeffrey Metcalf & Christine Williams.

What is your official title/job description with Goose & Gander?

I am the Marketing Director and Co-Owner.

How would you summarize what your company does and why your clients chose you over the competition?

We help small businesses build connections with their community by telling engaging stories through strategic marketing & content creation. This allows business owners to overcome obstacles, build leverage, & grow successfully in an ever-changing competitive market.

How has your business been impacted by COVID-19?

COVID-19 has provided us an opportunity to focus on our niche, realign our business strategy, and position ourselves to best serve clients in a fresh way. While it has been challenging, we are grateful for the time to help our clients pivot their day-to-day marketing to meet the needs of consumers in today’s world.

If you had to have a philosophy of life, what would it be?

I thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Each day, I work to keep in mind two things: 1) faster is not always better, ease and grace is a good pace and 2) consistency is key!

What's a productivity tool or app that you couldn't live without?

Evernote. It’s the home of all my to do lists and meeting notes. Without it I wouldn’t know where to start each day.

Do you or your company do any work within the community in the form of charity, nonprofits, or just building up Tulsa?

As content creators, we love lifting the voices of small businesses and non-profit organizations who help make this city what it is. We work with several non-profits in our community to elevate their mission and expand their reach. This spring I served as a Tulsa New Leader for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

What is one of your favorite books and why?

I can’t pick! I am a sucker for a good self help book. Right now I am loving all things Glennon Doyle - who recently wrote "Untamed". She’s such a great advocate for women and is so relatable as a storyteller.

Favorite movie and why?

It’s embarrassing, but here we are. I am always happy to watch an early 2000s dance movie - Step Up, Center Stage, really anything that has some hip hop and a cheesy love story.

And lastly, what is one of your favorite things about being a member of the Root Coworking?

I love the casual, homey feel of The Root - such a supportive community, always willing to help!
